What is Human Design?

Human Design is, initially, the concept of logical, and successful decision making. It is not a religion. Human design is a
self-knowledge method. A fairly early concept, written in the book The Human Design System, by Ra Uru Hu in 1992.

Human Design has been described as a psychological counseling instrument, and “a comprehensive and personalized map of your unique energy and life blueprint, guiding you towards self-awareness, personal growth, and empowerment.” It claims to facilitate “deep access to bodily, generational, and interdimensional intelligence.

Human Design (HD) pertains to the division of beings into four unique, but flowing energy types, a term that aims to differentiate and emphasize the categorical differences of the aura.

The Four Human Design Types Are:

Manifestor

What is a Manifestor?

A manifestor is someone who is able to initiate action and make impact on others. They have a motor center connected to the throat, giving them the ability to move their energy into action. Manifestors have an undefined sacral center.

In Human Design, having an undefined sacral center means that you don't have a consistent internal source of life force energy, making you highly sensitive to the energy of others around you and able to temporarily "mirror" their sacral energy, essentially taking on their emotional and energetic states depending on who you're with; this can manifest as a lack of clear direction or a feeling of needing to "go with the flow" in situations requiring action or commitment.

To navigate an undefined sacral, it's crucial to be mindful of who you spend time with and consciously choose to engage with people who have positive energy

Manifestor’s Role in Society

Manifestors are the catalysts and activators in society. They come up with ideas, and then go do them. They are considered the initiators, playing a key role in driving action and change by initiating projects, ideas, and movements. They’re necessary for progress for progress due to their powerful, focused energy that can readily manifest new things in the world; however, they are advised to "inform" others about their plans before taking action to avoid potential resistance or disruption, and to allow for collaboration.

In an ideally run society, Manifestors are: the leaders, entrepreneurs, artists and innovators, and activists. If a Manifestor is inspired, after informing with no resistance, they take action.

Generator

What are the TWO Types of Generators?

  1. Pure Generator

A Pure generator is someone with an activated sacral center but no connection to the throat center. The sacral center is the core of a person's energy and reproductive capacity. The sacral center is where Generators make decisions and respond to life.

Generators should pause before acting. They should ask themselves if they’re responding to something or if they’re trying to make something happen. Generators are meant to analyze themselves, and listen to their body. They thrive off of excitement. If there is a surge of energy and excitement, and that “YES!” factor, it is a sign to proceed. If there is resistance, it’s a sign that the Generator should wait.

Generators should embrace uncertainty and trust that life will bring them the right opportunities.

  2. Manifesting Generator

A Manifesting Generator, though still a Generator by Design, is a Human Design type that combines the energy of Generators and Manifestors.

Manifesting Generators are often misunderstood and wrongly categorized as an individual that “never sticks to one thing” because they are notorious for having a wide variety of interests, and likely wanting to engage with all of them. In other words, they’re known for being multi-faceted, dynamic, and responsive.

Manifesting Generators are designed to respond to signs from the world around them before proceeding with action.

They’re able to work quickly and efficiently, in environments where they can interact with many people. Manifesting Generators are guided by inner-authority to create unique things. Correctly following their design, Mani Gens can work tirelessly for hours on end. When a Mani Gen feels exhausted after working on their interests, they will crash. That’s when they will feel satisfied and rest. Going until they crash is a good sign. Mani Gens appreciate freedom. They don’t like having to “sit in one place for too long.”

Generator’s Role in Society

Generators are considered the "life force" of society, acting as the driving force behind creation and action, providing sustained energy through their Sacral Center, essentially acting as the builders and doers who bring ideas to life by responding to opportunities rather than initiating them.

Making up the majority of the population, their role is crucial for building and maintaining the world around them. Generators are meant to do what they love, and trust that the world will align with them.

Projector

What is a Projector?

Projectors are a non-energy type. They are characterized by a naturally low level of personal energy. They are not meant to consistently go-go-go the way Generators do. This means they aren’t meant to initiate action constantly, but rather to guide and observe others by strategically using their unique perspective. Projectors are meant to wait for the invitation before engaging and participating fully in situations.

Projectors are designed to project their wisdom and understanding onto others when needed, and called upon.

Since Projectors are a non-energy type, they can easily become drained by being around others for extended periods of time.

Projectors are not meant to actively push themselves into situations, but rather to wait for others to recognize that the Projector’s insight is needed, acknowledged, and heavily valued.

Projector’s Role in Society

Projectors thrive in roles as guides. Teachers, coaches, therapists, managers, directors, or consultants.

Reflector

What is a Reflector?

A Reflector is a type of personality characterized by openness, self-awareness, and the ability to communicate well with others.

Reflectors are open to new ideas and other people’s opinions. They’re understanding and consciously aware of their own emotions and can accept criticism and praise. Reflectors are imaginative, and lateral thinkers.

Reflectors have a niche for communicating with others on a critical level and understanding them harmoniously. A reflector will make you feel seen. They take in and reflect back everything that occurs around them. Reflectors reflect the health of the community. Reflectors are meant to be at the heart of their community.

They know exactly when a community is functioning properly and when it is not.

Because they are so influenced by their environment, Reflectors need time alone to process experiences and discern their own genuine responses. By sharing their observations about group dynamics or individual behaviors, Reflectors can help others become more aware of their own impact on others. Their ability to see multiple perspectives can help resolve conflicts and foster deeper communication.

Reflector’s Role in Society

Reflectors make up a mere 1% of the population. They strive in service roles, such as a designer, coach, auditor, and consultant. Opportunities like seasonal employment or flexible schedules work well with a Reflector’s necessary need for alone time. Even unconventional work, freelance work, where they’re consulting and giving insight.
